Treatments For Allergies

There are different types of treatments for specific allergies. They can range from prescribed medicine from you GP or over-the-counter medicine. Here are some suggestive treatments:

Anaphylaxis – This type of allergy can caused life threatening symptoms such as low blood pressure, difficulty in breathing or even unconsciousness, emergency actions should be taken. Medications such as epinephrine (used to raise blood pressure) and equipment such as breathing tube and machine can also be used in life threatening situations.

For less severe attacks medications such as antihistamines and corticosteroids can calm down the immune system response. If allergy is treated early symptoms can be minimize, usually within a day, but medication must be continued for 3 days or longer to make sure the immune system response is satisfactorily treated.
